June 25, 2021
Today we are featuring a really special ARKON OFF-ROAD build. We sat down with Kota, the owner of this truck, and one of our employees and asked him a few questions about his show build.

1999 Dodge Ram 1500
ARKON OFF-ROAD Lincoln 24x14 -81
AMP Mud Terrain Attack MT A 35"x13.5"
Rough Country Suspension Lift 5"
I drive a ‘99 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2l 318. I bought it completely bone stock for $297 because I was $3 short of $300 and it was all I had left to my name. I instantly started replacing and cutting body panels off and did all the bodywork myself over the course of a year. It has 2-Stage Viper blue paint on it, 5” Rough Country suspension lift painted Sunburst gold with a 2.5” Hellbent Steel coil spacer in the front for a total lift height of 7.5” front/ 5” rear. My wheels are 24x14 ARKON OFF-ROAD Lincolns on 3” Bora spacers.
The tires are 35x13.5” Amp Mud Terrain Attack Mt. The headlights and taillights are aftermarket. It has NRG Innovation racing seats with Tanaka 4pt. harnesses. 5% tint all the way around. 5% brow with 30% windshield. And countless hours in the garage working on it.
I think it was just part of my high school crowd that I hung out with at the time. After school instead of sports, we would just wrench on the trucks with each other and try to do cheap mods to make them look cooler. Then I just started taking the mods further and further until I made my first modded truck build in 2017.
The biggest motivation I had for this build was the guy who sold the truck to me. He told me that he was going to sell it to me so cheaply because he thought it had potential and he knew that I could make it into something dope. And that just kept pushing me to go bigger and better to the full show truck extent for this build.
I have a lot of ideas for Phase 2 of this build, I actually have a lot of the parts for it already as well to just make it bigger and better so that will hopefully start soon.
The best advice I have if you want to build your truck on a budget is to make a reasonable but accomplishable build sheet, price everything out, and try to stick to it as much as possible. But don’t forget to have fun with the process because this is your truck and you get to design it however you want to and make it yours. And that’s the best part about all of it.
If you are ready to begin your show truck build journey, ARKON OFF-ROAD always offers free shipping, mounting, and balancing on all wheel and tire packages. What do you think of this build? Let us know in the comments down below.
