1. What Do You Drive? & What Mods Have You Done?
I drive a ‘99 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2l 318. I bought it completely bone stock for $297 because I was $3 short of $300 and it was all I had left to my name. I instantly started replacing and cutting body panels off and did all the bodywork myself over the course of a year. It has 2-Stage Viper blue paint on it, 5” Rough Country suspension lift painted Sunburst gold with a 2.5” Hellbent Steel coil spacer in the front for a total lift height of 7.5” front/ 5” rear. My wheels are 24x14 ARKON OFF-ROAD Lincolns on 3” Bora spacers.
The tires are 35x13.5” Amp Mud Terrain Attack Mt. The headlights and taillights are aftermarket. It has NRG Innovation racing seats with Tanaka 4pt. harnesses. 5% tint all the way around. 5% brow with 30% windshield. And countless hours in the garage working on it.
2. What Influenced You To Start Modifying Trucks?
I think it was just part of my high school crowd that I hung out with at the time. After school instead of sports, we would just wrench on the trucks with each other and try to do cheap mods to make them look cooler. Then I just started taking the mods further and further until I made my first modded truck build in 2017.
3. What's Your Biggest Motivator/ Passion/ Inspiration?
The biggest motivation I had for this build was the guy who sold the truck to me. He told me that he was going to sell it to me so cheaply because he thought it had potential and he knew that I could make it into something dope. And that just kept pushing me to go bigger and better to the full show truck extent for this build.
4. What's The Future Look Like For Your Truck?
I have a lot of ideas for Phase 2 of this build, I actually have a lot of the parts for it already as well to just make it bigger and better so that will hopefully start soon.
5. Any Advice For Somebody Who Is Looking To Build Their Vehicle?
The best advice I have if you want to build your truck on a budget is to make a reasonable but accomplishable build sheet, price everything out, and try to stick to it as much as possible. But don’t forget to have fun with the process because this is your truck and you get to design it however you want to and make it yours. And that’s the best part about all of it.
